Brackley Town FC has secured £5000 funding from the National League Trust for its Saints Community Project programme, the second year running that the project has been generously supported with a grant from the trust. Started in September 2015, the Saints Community Project was set up to support people who may feel isolated and enable them to build a friendship network. Elderly Brackley residents, people with learning disabilities and those with mental health issues attend every Wednesday and the project is still growing.
The National League Trust is a partnership between the the National League, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association. They have each contributed funds to support all Football National League member clubs to help develop their community activities.
Managing Director at Brackley Town, Janene Butters, said, “Over the past year this project has given our elderly and those with disabilities some very enjoyable memories. These excellent times would not be possible without the generous contribution from the Trust and funding partners; the Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association.”
